Minority Councilmember Election Notice
In accordance with Kentucky Revised Statute (KRS) 160.345(2)(b), schools with an enrolled minority student population of 8% or greater are required to have at least one minority representative serving on the School-Based Decision Making (SBDM) Council. If a minority candidate is not elected during the regular election cycle, the principal must conduct a special election for both a minority parent and minority teacher representative.
Flaherty Primary School currently has a minority student population of 16.13% and will therefore hold a Minority Parent Councilmember Election.
Parents or guardians who are interested in serving on the School-Based Decision Making Council (SBDM) must have a student enrolled at Flaherty Primary School for the 2026–2027 school year.

Teacher Appreciation drinks were delivered campus wide by our 6th grade leaders. A nice reminder of how far they’ve come, and how proud we are to watch them grow ✨ A huge shoutout to Flaherty Service Center for making our Thirsty Thursday possible today! 🙌💙

A huge THANK YOU to Meade County Bank for sponsoring our amazing nacho bar from Miguel’s!! 🌮 It was the perfect way to celebrate Cinco de Mayo and show appreciation for our incredible staff during Teacher Appreciation Week. We’re so grateful for the support and for having such a fun (and delicious!) celebration!

As our Military-Connected Month comes to a close, we want to remind our students and families that our appreciation doesn’t stop here. We are already excited and looking ahead, brainstorming ways to make next year’s celebration even more meaningful!
This past April was filled with special moments that brought our community together:
🎉HUGE thank you to VFW Post 10281 for sponsoring our parade, treats, and goodies!
🎉 Weekly fun fact announcements helped us learn more about and appreciate military life
🎉 Over 30 students proudly participated in our campus-wide Purple Up Parade
🎉 Delicious snacks were generously provided by our very own MCHS Culinary Students!!
🎉 Our 6th-grade leaders shared a meaningful story with the group
🎉 Students received small gifts to symbolize just how important they are to us
Thank you to everyone who helped make this month so memorable. We are proud to support and celebrate our military-connected students—not just in April, but all year long! 💜
